One of the most significant examples of needlework that Robert Bleasdale has sold at auction was the Gape casket, a fine 17th-century documented needlework box, which achieved a price of £38,000 (panel piece shown above). Many of the more humble objects found in sewing boxes were also the product of the creative needleworker.
Our catalogues include all manner of needlework, from delicate silk work and lace, through to tapestries or samplers. Many smaller pincushions and other accessories provided a perfect platform for the needleworker to demonstrate their skills.
