At Bleasdales we have the great privilege of seeing some of the world's finest antique sewing tools and accessories. We always enjoy encouraging greater interest in this field of collecting because so many of the wonderful objects that we see have been made with great craftsmanship and the designs are often imbued with beauty and humour (sometimes simultaneously!). While many of these tools were simply devised to solve practical problems for the men and women who originally used them they provide a very tangible link to our past.
We hope you find the information about the history of specialist tools and accessories interesting and informative.
